Kate is Head of the Sustainability practice in EMEA and APAC. She's an experienced executive search professional who joins True from a specialist firm focused on the private capital markets where she was head of ESG and sustainability.
Working with clients across the private capital market, she has been responsible for placing individuals at all levels of seniority, building teams and providing advice on the structure and composition of internal sustainability functions. Kate has worked with private equity, private credit, infrastructure and early stage venture investors as well as asset management firms. As well as sustainability generalists, Kate has placed climate, decarbonization and biodiversity specialists, together with sustainability professionals focused on value creation across the capital structure and portfolio company supply chains. More recently, her focus has been on the underlying portfolio companies, advising the owners of public and private companies on the management of their respective sustainability strategies. With legislative, regulatory, investor, consumer and talent attraction-led drivers, sustainability remains a business priority which presents an exciting opportunity for True.
Kate started her career in investment banking, moving into private equity in 2004: first with Capital Dynamics where she managed the global investor relations program, before moving to SVG Advisers to manage investor relations for its publicly listed fund of funds program. During her time with SVG, she was part of a small team tasked with developing and implementing the responsible investment strategy which also included the firm becoming a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment. Kate combines first-hand industry experience with a deep understanding of sustainability, which has proved valuable to clients as they seek to develop and implement a strategy that aligns with their business objectives and values whilst responding to the challenges they face as they engage with their respective stakeholders.
