John Woody is a partner in True’s People, Talent and Legal and Financial Services practices, bringing more than 15 years of experience in both search and company operations.  He works with Series A - public companies, asset managers and venture and growth private equity firms against their talent needs as both an adviser and search professional.

Before joining True, John was VP, talent & culture at Boom Supersonic and responsible for all aspects of human resources and recruiting.  Prior to that, John spent more than a decade at the world’s largest hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates.  At Bridgewater, John played several roles, including several years as a chief of staff to the founder and CEO Ray Dalio, and having responsibility for the firm’s recruiting efforts for more than 10 years during a period of heavy growth and scaling of the firm.

Originally from Gastonia, NC (just outside of Charlotte, NC).  John currently livesin Greenwich, CT. He loves spending time with his wife and son and is a Rotarian.  John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College, where he concentrated in afro-american studies.
