Marianne is a partner in True’s Software and Enterprise Tech practice.  She has more than ten years experience operating across the tech ecosystem as a founder, team member, board member, investor, coach and now as an executive search partner.  Her specialization at True is as a partner to early and growth stage Canadian businesses, and with venture capital firms more broadly, helping them build out their post-investment teams.

Prior to True, Marianne spent five years as a talent partner and head of platform at two North American venture capital firms, building out foundational portfolio programs and advising seed to pre-IPO startups on talent and search strategy.  She was the founder of Prospect, Canada’s largest national startup job board, which was acquired by Communitech in 2021.  During her career, Marianne has also helped to build a world-renowned university-based accelerator, co-founded Canada's largest tech meetup group and worn many hats as an operator within several early-stage startups.

Marianne holds an honors Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University and a Masters of Applied Human Rights from the University of York.  She lives in Toronto with her husband, son and their beagle Patsy Cline.  She is an avid skier and lives for summers on the lakes of Ontario.
