Devang is a partner in True’s People, Talent & Legal Practice, based in San Francisco. He works with CEOs, boards and legal leadership teams to identify and recruit general counsels and other senior legal leaders. With more than 25 years of legal experience, including five roles as general counsel, he brings a firsthand understanding of the demands of the role and what it takes to build an effective legal function.
Before joining True, Devang helped lead the IPOs of Zynga and Wish, built legal functions from the ground up and advised CEOs through acquisitions, restructurings and periods of rapid international growth. He began his legal career at Skadden, Arps, focusing on corporate and intellectual property law.
At True, Devang focuses on executive searches for general counsels and other senior legal leaders, particularly at technology and high-growth companies navigating periods of scale, transition and preparation for the public markets. Having served as a general counsel himself, he understands what CEOs and boards need from their legal leaders and how to identify executives who can build strong teams, manage risk and drive business growth. He is a founding member of L Suite (formerly TechGC), a peer community of more than 2,000 general counsels.
Before pursuing law, Devang worked as an engineer at Sandia National Laboratories. He holds a law degree from UC Berkeley, a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cornell University.
