True Names Cybersecurity Executive Ahmed Jamil as Partner

PHILADELPHIA, PA — OCTOBER 8, 2026 — True, the premier global executive talent platform powered by data, AI, and deep sector expertise, today announced Ahmed Jamil has joined the firm as a Partner in its Product, Data & Technology Practice. With more than a decade of experience advising companies and investors on cybersecurity and technology leadership, Ahmed will advise private equity and public market clients on C-suite technology and security appointments, including CISO, CIO and CTO mandates.

As companies embed AI and other emerging technologies more deeply into their operations, cybersecurity leaders are increasingly being asked to connect technology and risk decisions to business strategy, making the evaluation of these executives a broader leadership question. Ahmed will build on True’s existing cybersecurity and technology expertise, working alongside Austin Krissoff and the broader cybersecurity team to advise clients on technology and cybersecurity leadership decisions that sit at the intersection of business strategy, operational risk and board oversight.

“Ahmed understands that cybersecurity leadership is no longer a narrowly defined technology mandate. The expectations of these executives extend beyond the technology function, shaped by the board, investors and the broader business,” said Sam McGrath, Global GM, True Search. “He brings a clear understanding of how those expectations differ across private equity-backed and public companies, and how the mandate changes depending on the company’s ownership, governance structure and stage of growth. That perspective will help our clients assess technology and security leaders against the demands of the business, not simply the requirements of the function.”

Ahmed joins True after more than a decade at Russell Reynolds Associates, where he built and led the firm’s global cybersecurity practice, advising private equity-backed and public companies on senior technology and security appointments. Earlier, he held multiple leadership roles at CME Group, one of the world’s leading derivatives marketplace operators, and began his career at EY. Across those roles, he developed experience spanning cybersecurity, technology and business operations, a perspective he now brings to True’s work with boards, CEOs and investors.

“The expectations placed on cybersecurity leaders have changed significantly as technology becomes more closely tied to how companies operate and grow,” said Ahmed Jamil. “The best leaders today cannot think about cyber risk separately from the business. They need to understand how technology decisions affect growth and how risk affects the company’s ability to execute. They also need to communicate those trade-offs clearly to a board and investors. For boards and investors, the question is whether a candidate can translate cyber risk into business decisions and lead through the technology challenges that come with growth.”

True’s approach to technology and cybersecurity leadership combines data-driven market mapping with sector expertise and executive assessment, giving clients a view of both the available talent and the leadership requirements of the role.
