Tyson is a partner at SearchEssentials, where he brings a client-first mindset and a passion for rethinking executive search. Having once been a customer of the firm, Tyson now helps shape its unique approach—blending strategic search expertise with scalable, self-serve recruitment solutions to create more inclusive and agile hiring practices.
Before joining SearchEssentials, Tyson was a Talent Partner at Autotech Ventures, where he helped the firm more than double in size, supporting both team expansion and a major increase in assets under management to over $500 million. His earlier experience includes building out the West Coast practice for UK-based executive search firm Erevena, where he partnered with high-growth startups to scale leadership teams from the ground up.
Tyson began his search career at Daversa Partners, growing into a leadership role over eight years and focusing on Go-To-Market and executive placements for venture-backed technology companies.
He earned his BBA from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas. Tyson lives in the Outer Sunset with his Formosan Mountain dog, Ellie, and spends his weekends on the golf and disc golf courses around the greater Bay Area.
