True Search Expands Cyber Security Practice

July 18, 2017, Philadelphia, PA – True Search, the global executive search firm, has expanded its capabilities by naming Austin Krissoff to lead its cyber security practice from the Boston office.

It has been reported that cybercrime cost the global industry an estimated $450B annually and funding for cyber security companies could break records this year. True’s cyber security practice is an answer to the growing demand for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and other security-trained executives to protect companies from cyber threats.

“Our clients are discovering an abundance of security problems and a shortage of security executives who can prevent, defend or respond to them. We have designed this practice to enhance access to talent through our connectivity to entrepreneurs in venture capital and private equity portfolio companies. A security entrepreneur who has founded a security company can also be a great CISO, and vice versa. Our approach enriches candidate and client interaction in a competitive talent environment,” said Brad Stadler, co-CEO of True Talent Advisory. “Austin is uniquely qualified because of his significant experience in this sector and his broader background in security,” Stadler added.

Prior to joining True, Austin was a search consultant at two other global retained firms, where he placed CISOs and built international security teams. He previously worked at a venture-backed cyber security startup. Austin is a former U.S. Marine Corps Captain and served overseas as a human intelligence advisor and platoon commander. He holds a MA in National Security Studies from Georgetown University and a BA in Political Science from Middlebury College. He is one of the few search consultants in the industry holding Top Secret clearance.

“Security breaches today are prevalent among large public enterprises and high growth companies. Risk is disproportionate to size and no organization is immune. Austin’s understanding of the space, as well as his relationships with national security leaders, enterprise CISOs and security entrepreneurs, make him a valuable addition to the True team,” said Joe Riggione, co-CEO of True Talent Advisory.
